Report to Facebook that your account has been hacked, set up Strava password once you get control of your Facebook account. Try Googling instead of pissing about on here...

Check your email on the Strava phone app, then go to the Strava log in page and click the forgot password link...

Create a veloviewer account, sync it with your strava profile, pretty sure it does this without you needing to log on to strava, all the data should be transferred...

Then cough up the £10 for premium and enjoy the extra functionality over and above strava.

I think the lesson here is don't trust facebook!

Glad you have Strava back but I would never trust a faceless marketing company with my passwords or data if I thought it valuable

I'm not sure I'd class old Strava data as valuable...

Diz, did you rebuild your PC (as you were strongly advised to do so by others here on PH) after you inadvertently installed malware after you downloaded that dodgy copy of MS software?? Perhaps you will now, as you were so adamant that you had nothing remotely important on your PC (other than fricking Strava data).

Are you sure you signed up to Strava with Facebook?

I signed up with an email and later linked it to FB for ease of use

Hang on I saw your post on the PC forum , didn't the hacking stem from trying to download knocked off MS software ? It's dificult to illicit sympathy if this the case . It's like people who boast to me how they download films for free and the next week can't work out why their pc keeps sending them to Russian brides websites ...

Give it another day and log a case with facebook , there will be a workaround I bet my soul on it

Also and more importantly , have you raised a support call with Strava ? Sof Facebook , go straight to strava , explain the situation clearly and have personal info on hand to prove yourself . If you pay for premium then it will be a piece of piss as you can verify yourself via your bank card and then link the account to a new email

I think if one thing can be learnt from this is if you truly have valuable data then you must take responsibility for that data. Relying on third parties to me does not seem a sensible approach, how many times have we seen large companies hacked and potential data loss?

There's no way of knowing if you got rid of all of the malware, hence the strong advice to re-install your OS & software from scratch. If your PC doesn't have an SSD then maybe take this opportunity to upgrade to one.
