Obviously his meditation session failed.
Someone kicks your mirror they are a cock. You seek revenge and run them over you are most likely insane.
Interesting she is 3 months pregnant. I am wondering if she got knocked up in an attempt to avoid jail time.

That's not how it started.

When drivers are fannying about with a phone and steering wildly towards you it sts you up. It's terrifying. You're looking straight into the dead, bovine eyes of a Croydon facelift and she's chuntering away into the phone in her hand and steering toward you in a ton of metal.

[checks flameproof suit is back from dry cleaning] I am guessing it basically wasn't, as she wasn't charged with that - I suspect the prosecution would have struggled with proving intention to kill or cause serious bodily harm.

Quite a sequence

The incident was sparked on February 10 last year when Henshaw-Bryan pulled out in front of Mr Doughty as he cycled home along Stoke Newington High Street from an evening meditation session.

The cyclist asked her to apologise but was incensed when she instead raised her middle finger and told him to "f*** off".

Mr Doughty told Wood Green crown court he cycled after Henshaw-Bryan's Ford Focus and kicked her wing mirror in "a moment of madness", but then felt the car close behind him as he continued his journey.

He pulled a sharp left turn into Victorian Grove to try to get away from the car but Henshaw-Bryan continued in hot pursuit.

Shocking CCTV then caught the moment she swerved to hit Mr Doughty before he could mount the pavement.

"I remember the car rear-ending me, letting out a scream as I realised what was happening", he said.

"I realised I had been hit, and within an instant I'm in a crumpled heap on the floor in extreme amounts of pain, fully aware that the car was long gone."

As much as I finding cyclists can be frustrating on the roads no one deserves that, good that she will spend time in prison. I suspect his reaction to being told to foxtrot oscar was the trigger for what followed, should said the same back and cycled in the opposite direction to her.

Both parties are in the wrong but with wildly different reactions.

It started with her pulling out on him - which is wrong
He asked her to apologise - justified, but what did he really think she was going to say?
She told him to fk off and gave him the finger - establishing
A) she is unable to admit when she is wrong (like the majority of road users both on two, three, four and more wheels)
B) she is a moron.

Now at this point most people would think "this person is clearly a moron, I will let them go and never see them again", but he decided to take action. At this point there has been no physical contact, just verbal.

The cyclist then kicks the car mirror, which escalates the situation to a violent physical one. At this point the cyclist is clearly the aggressor in the situation.

The car driver then goes for the nuke them from orbit approach (remember when that was a thing on here?) and attempts to kill the cyclist.

What we have here is two people who are both way too aggressive and the result is the one on the bike came off significantly worse. The fact he was injured doesn't make him less wrong. Just to make it totally clear I am not suggesting for one moment that he deserved the massive Israeli style over retaliation. The car driver is clearly the more culpable.

Personally I would suggest the three year prison term is not enough and should be followed by a lengthy driving ban.

Unfortunately due to the circumstances she will likely be out in at most 18 months and back behind the wheel.

The cyclist also needs to have a bit of a think and maybe change meditation classes.

No, but it is a prime example of the sort of fking loony toons are out there, hence my comments on the other thread about retaining some composure and avoiding altercations.
Three years appears lenient. And who'd have thought a 25 year old entitled bint in an SUV would react like that.

Is there some small irony that he was on his way back from a meditation session? Needs to keep taking them lessons and just keep calm out there.

On a separate note, she looks half tidy, I am sure "Mrs Big" will take a shine to her...!!

I cycle past this road on my route to work, always a shocking bit of driving going on and RLJ's.

Albeit the 3 years seems lenient, the fact the cyclist instigated the attack to an extent makes it pretty fair I think.

If he hadn't kicked her mirror off I'm sure she wouldn't have mowed him down. Was he fined for any damages to her car for the mirror?
