Tour Series - Bath

Thinking I might go to see the Tour Series in Bath city centre on Sunday. I'll be taking two kids (10 and 8) with me.

Never been to watch competitive cycling before, and would like to make the most of it as its a fairly long way to go.

Any advice on the best place to watch from? Or things to do/see?

Sunday....you sure? Not sure what direction you are coming from but I would use the Lansdown park & ride if I were you.

My typo, meant Saturday.

I'm coming from the Southwest.

I'm wondering whether the start/finish area is best or whether it will be too crowded and we'd get a better view of the action further around the course.

I don't think it will matter where you stand but possibly better the further you are from the Abbey (tourists etc) so start / finish side of the bridge might be better.

Not sure which way you will come in bit suggest you use the P & R's which are also in Odd Down & Newbridge.

Went and watched. We stood near the Abbey for most of each race as you could see a lot of the course from there, including a couple of tight bends where there were crashes (opposite the Brown's pub)
Nearer the end of the race we walked up to near the finish line, where you couldn't see as much, but the atmosphere was better, with music, commentary and a much bigger crowd.

Was a really good afternoon despite the heavy rain, and my two kids enjoyed it too. Especially seeing themselves on the Telly on Monday night.

If they do Bath again next year I will probably go and watch again.

We went down to Durham last year, we really enjoyed it too. We stood on the tight corner at the bottom of the bank onto the cobbles, its notorious for crashes. Great place to stand, it was the first year there were no crashes on the corner, haha.

We were going to go down this Saturday but they have changed the times and brought everything forward, so we will have to give it a miss unfortunately.
