Which Power meter? (CAAD12)

Hi folks, been thinking that a power meter is the next upgrade for my Cannondale CAAD 12 Ultegra disc.
The bike has the Cannondale si Spider crankset and the notorious BB30a bottom bracket.

The stages option which is basically a compatible new crank arm is about 600 pounds and it looks the easiest and quickest way to get set up.
My worry is that if I go that route I may encounter BB problems and have to do the BB conversion.
Would I be better just doing that BB conversion now, selling the Spider crankset and buying a Shimano Power meter set up? The full Dura ace 9100 crankset with Stages power meter is 1100?
Any other options I should be looking at?

Anything but stages.

The shimano option I should think will be decent.

The FSA powerbox is basically a power2max for less money, that would be all in sub 600. Or there of course are power2max themselves, or Quarq also. All may require a bottom bracket change, but its a really easy job for a bikeshop or you to do with a couple of tools.

Thanks okgo, the FSA does look a good option, and good value as well as the spider crankset on the bike is brand new so can sell that to offset some of the cost, making it even more of a bargain.

Yep, I think unless I find a bargain I will get one too. Seems a great price for what is proven tech.

I've had a FSA powerbox for a few weeks now. Very happy so far, no issues at all with rogue readings or drop-outs, although its my first powermeter so I don't have anything to compare it to. I'm not getting any left/right balance readings though, but I think I need to do some upgrade to get this?

That said, people have been riding for years without getting this data without issue. I'm not convinced its worth much.

Did you have to buy the FSA bottom bracket prior?

Looks like the update isn't available till September for left/right balance. I'm coming back to cycling from a looong break due to knee issues (used to hold some of the records you subsequently broke at KW ) so the balance could be quite useful to me as I'm sure I 'protect' my worse knee.

Sigma fitted mine, they used a rotor bb (standard english threaded frame)

I am off recovering after ankle surgery, part of the reason I want a power meter is to see how my recovery is coming on.
