Not a massive budget, I will need to replace my wheels fairly soon.
A set of 2009 Shiman R500 came with it and looking at old Evans web pages put them at 1884g rear and 812g front.
Replacement wise I can find £250ish inc any QR if required, I live near windy old Dartmoor so have looked at semi-aero wheelsets and have found Campag Sirocco 35 and Fulcrum Quattro LG in my price range. Can't re-use old QRs the rear nut is really quite seized and ugly.
Evans put both these sets at around 1700g which I think is for both so either set would really liven my ride up. Also although I'm 3*9 speed at the moment 2*11 is in the bikes future, but i think both sets can use a spacer to use a narrower cassette until I'm ready.
Anyone got opinion either way, or a left field choice?

Keep an eye on eBay etc, I just got some campag neutron ultra wheels for £309
With tyres, tubes and a campag 10 speed titanium cassette...
Smashing wheels
Make sure any pre owned wheels are recent as not all Fulcrums are 11 speed ready. My 3 year old 3's are but the old 5 CX's aren't. It says clearly on the freehub "11Speed" if they are. With tyres, tubes and a campag 10 speed titanium cassette...

Good point. If the listing isn't clear, any reasonable seller will provide further info or photos to clarifyI've recently renovated a pair of r500 wheels by replacing the rims with h plus son archetypes. They were a straight swap no changing of hubs, spokes or nipples required. I learnt a lot putting them together.
I'm not saying you should necessarily, buying new set is a lot less hassle! But it's an option.
If it's just the qr nut that's bothering you, a new one would be easy to come by.

QR not bothering me really, just needs to be taken into account for budgeting.

Anyone else tried them? Can't find too much online, but the chap suggesting the brand is fast so that is a postive towards them.
