Anyone planning on going?

I'm going to see whether I can find another bike - I fancy a Ribble (R872 or Gran Fondo disc) and they're supposed to be there with all of their models on display. 10% off on the day too so I may be tempted.

Yes, I'm going, been the last couple of years. Enjoy drooling over mountain bikes I can only dream of owning!

I'm going on the Saturday.
Out of interest are there usually good bargains to be had? And do any of the stands cater for the more retro scene as well? I know people who have managed to purchased old Kleins and disc drives etc from vendors at similar shows?
Finally are there usually test bikes/circuits and if so is it worth taking some proper shoes?

I've never been before and plan on going myself. Not in the market for anything in particular but will be taking the credit card. If theres any trial out opportunities i'd also be interested.

I'm planning on driving down, cladding myself in full lycra and walking through the door in SPD-SLs all day. I've seen similar at the motorbike show with car drivers changing into full leathers. They look so cool so I would like to join them....

I'm going with a mate on the Thursday, haven't been for a few years.

Last time I went there weren't many stalls selling stuff, sunglasses was one and a few minor others.

There is a demo course, or was when I went. You could turn up, don a helmet and off you go, e-bikes were the big thing when I was there, loss of them to try. Also tried a few of the new at the time re-vamped Holdsworth range.

There were quite a few free gizzards on offer though, but that may have been because Thursday is the trade day.

OP, Ribble have a store in central Birmingham which is decent, they also offer discount (well they did to my mate)

Only 20 mins on the train from the NEC and near loads of pubs too so if the shows pants (which it was when I last went) walk over to the train station and pop to Brum.

No need, I live in Preston so only 10mins from the Ribble factory anyway. I'm just going for a general nosey though tbh and see if there are any deals to be had.

Oh, looking at the name in your profile, in that case I've spoken to you on the phone - you made me a very nice custom-sized jersey a couple of years ago !

Had discussed going with a mate. Wanted to look at Canyon Speedmaxes.

But having seen the exhibitor list, not sure it's worth the 4 hour round trip tbh. Whilst Canyon have a stand. Hardly anyone else there!

No Spesh, Trek, Scott, Giant for example.

Haven't been to the cycle show since it moved from the old location at Islington(?).

Parking etc. at the NEC puts me off. Bit of a rip-off.

I'm going mainly to see the small kit suppliers rather than the bikes themselves. I have fingers crossed that Hope will have some show deals on as I want to replace the brakes on my mtb...

Im at the NEC on the Saturday taking my lad to the EGX gaming exhibition, but our ticket doesn't let us in until 11am, so Im getting there early and nipping into the Cycle Show.

Im after a Cube eBike so I'm going to look at their stand to see which 2018 bike I want.

Is there much in the way of mtb stuff there? Searching the exhibitors list shows no results for most so either the search is crap or they just aren't there

Next to sod all last year! there were a few bikes bolted to stands, Met and Laser were there with helmets, but that was it.

Singletrack had the biggest MTB footprint.
