Garmin 800 issue - Not recording distance.

Got a bit of an issue with my garmin 800 wondering if anyone has had similar and knows what exactly the problem is?

The unit is not recording rides - on three rides now it has picked up satellites and i have started the unit only to find it simply doesn't record my speed and distance. It is recording elevation and also shows my correct location on the map.

I have tried the unit in the car and it works fine, recording the route travelled, I have tried it walking and again it works fine.

Could the issue be connected to the ride sense speed/cadence sensor on my bike?




edit - just synced the device with strava etc and it seems to be actually recording the data but its not displaying on the screen during rides?

What fields have you got active on the main screen of the Garmin unit?

Have you inadvertently changed them to display something other than speed and distance?

Think I sussed it, the garmin was switched on the wrong bike profile and as it was trying to connect to a speed/cadence sensor that wasn't there it sent it wonky.

Changed the bike profile and had a ride around the street and it seems to be working now.
