Can anyone recommend any good mountain bike trails in the South West?

In particular, I'm looking for places in South Somerset or East Devon. I'm near Chard and I'd like to find somewhere local to me that I can visit if I have a spare hour or two.

I know there's plenty of good riding in the Quantocks. I'm also led to believe there is some on Ham Hill, near Crewkerne and I'm tempted to check out the manmade trails at the Symmondsbury estate near Bridport. None of those are just around the corner, though.

Gawton and Tavi Woodlands near Tavistock are good fun.

Triscombe is excellent - we do a couple of uplift days there each year and it's always a riot - got a bit of everything.

Went to Haldon Forest in the end. Met up with a few other people, one of whom works on the trailbuilding up there, so we had a good look round. I can thoroughly recommend it - doesn't have the scope of the big Welsh trail centres (at least not in terms of the marked trails) but there's some nice bits of singletrack.
