Alrighty, obvs it's an Eddie Merckx (even I can read), but any idea on model and possible value?

Doesn't look in tooooooooo bad condition and might go for it...........

Are you sure they aren't just Eddy Merckx stickers, added by someone other than the manufacturer?!?

I wouldn't accept it as a gift personally.

But I could be ever so spectacularly wrong!

Would these add any weight to its originality?

Genuinely curious...........

Mate of mine got a ten speed Eddy Merckx racer when he was 11 years old. I was really jealous. I'd never heard of Merckx but his bike had drop handlebars!
I doubt it was an expensive brand

I think so. It's not particularly high-end.

What sort of price given its condition? Might have a punt on it if the price is right

No idea - what are the components? Vintage Campagnolo adds value.

If you're after a Merckx, however, get a Corsa Extra. Undervalued and beautiful to ride. This one is mine:

It might have a similar paint job, but its not even a team issue.
Different lugs, mudguard eyes on the forks, no bottle bosses etc.

Its a late 70s, early 80s, mass produced, gas pipe special, that Eddy slapped some stickers on and knocked out through local bike shops.

^^^ This. It's a cheap and nasty bike worth peanuts.
