I want to fit a dropper post to my Cube Reaction GTC, the top tube is cable free & I'd like to keep it that way so I was looking at how to route the cable through the seatpost.
There's an indented, cable sized hole in the bottom of the frame just behind the crank, further in it narrows to a c.2mm hole & if I shine a light through it's visible when viewed through the seat tube.
So would I be correct in assuming it'd be ok to drill it out by another couple of mm to route a cable through?

It could then be routed up the bottom tube with the rear brake line.

It seems like an obvious thing to do but I'm still oddly reluctant to take a drill to my carbon frame!

(Disclaimer: Bike isn't clamped , just balanced in the jaws of the stand & no carbon fibre was harmed in the production of this post) wink

Is the frame still in warranty? (im guessing so?)

If so any drilling could invalidate the warranty if you ever need to claim on it over something else

Also ive only drilled old frames that I could afford to lose or ruin , although that's worst case scenario

Yes the frame is still quite new so would be under warranty, however I suspect they'd be hard pushed to notice that a 2mm hole has grown by a couple of mm.
Especially when it looks like it was designed for a cable run of some description originally.
But I take your point.

Given where it is, is it not some sort of drain hole for any moisture that gets in there to find its way out? Blocking it with a hose might not then be a good plan although I think I'd be willing to give it a try were it mine.
