Just been given an unopened 2kg tub of this

https://uk.usn-sport.com/en/muscle-fuel-anabolic

which I could use for after cycling as a recovery drink or something.....but the expiry date was stated as October 2017, but being sealed, unopened and a dry powder, surely it'd be absolutely fine for quite some time yet!? Been stored in a garage, which does obviously get quite cold. I have a suspecision it'd still be fine for another 6-12 months without any issues.

Or am I going to have a bit and die a slow and painful death? biggrin

I've gone a fair way beyond the date on protein powder.

Not dead, but neither am the size of Arnie. Maybe that's why... hehe

Is expiry date 'Best Before' or 'Use By'?

If it's 'best before' then it'll be fine, I was using some isotonic energy powder that was 6 months beyond the best before date.

Pretty sure it's "BBE". Your username is ironic, since it was actually given to me by my dad hehe

I ate a single BCAA tab last year that was about 12 months out of date. Pressed dry powder, so I figured it would be safe enough. I was wrong. Sick as a dog for several days after that. I'm sure you'll be fine with a powder that's a month over but I've lost my appetite for pushing it any further than that.

Why would you purchase and even eat that crap anyway? Throw it away dude..
Stick to whole food plant based diet, eat lots of beans/lentils and you won't need to consume crap like this..

Snake oil for lazy retards who believe advertisements.

Edit: I just checked whats inside in that stuff and the fine print, LOOOOOOOOOL... I get more of that stuff already from my diet than that miracle powder can ever provide...

1 - I didn't purchase it.
2 - I don't specifically use that stuff, but I do use a whey protein with maltodextrin after hard or long workouts. You simply DO recover quickler if you get those things in you than you can with natural foods. Beans/lentils etc are NOT rapidly absorbed by any stretch of the imagination, so are not ideal for recovery.
