Weekend didn't quite go to plan....
Discussion
So, this weekend I picked up the keys to my new house and with the help of family we got a lot of stuff moved in Friday. Not much Saturday because I had to work in the morning and then I had a meal out with work colleagues in the evening. So.... Sunday was the day to blitz it and move the rest of my stuff. I had time enough for one final bike ride around the local loops.
So, 5 miles from home, turn left, hit a drain cover or something..... Hit the road onto my left side. Hip a bit sore, shoulder painful and stiff.
Got stiffer as time went on and painful on moving. Also noticed my distal clavicle raised..... Go to A&E and hey presto, I've broken my clavicle.
A bit painful this time and stiff to say the least. Off work.... Not sure for how long (chiropractor.... So I need my shoulder!!) which isn't what I want after getting a mortgage! Hopefully it won't take too long to heal and I can get back to work soon enough (and riding of course!)

I had pretty much the same incident in 2016, it took about 5 weeks before I could fully use my shoulder properly again. I'm 46 and reasonably fit if that's any help..
I found sleeping hard for the first few days, inevitably I'd roll over in the night and wake myself up. My shoulder is still a bit deformed now but causes me no pain.

Well.....things are slowly improving. Shoulder mobility is gradually increasing. The worst pain is from what I think is an adductor tear/strain after the crash....almost slipped/lost my balance yesterday....bugger me that hurt! Just to be on the safe side I'm popping into work Friday and get an xray of my hip.

I have trouble with my adductors, and it's not fun. Well....went to work yesterday and had an xray (perks of the job, I suppose!) and it showed an extremely subtle dislocation of the left hip by the looks of it. It was extremely subtle....so my boss did a hip adjustment technique....there was a bit of clunking sensation, and within an hour or so I'd say my pain levels were down to around 20%, if that, of what they were before. Still a little sensitive this morning but I'm no longer limping and most movements are pain free now. Just going to take it easy over the weekend to let it settle a bit, probably get some more treatment Monday if I can get there (still can't drive due to shoulder) and hopefully I'll be able to get back on the turbo trainer soon.
My shoulder mobility is definitely improving....slowly but surely. I think it's probably ready for me to actually get on the indoor trainer for some easy riding (I won't be riding outdoors for at least 2 months yet!) but it'll be nice to do SOME exercise. I've been so lazy lately as I haven't been able to do any cardio, not even walking, because of the hip, and I can't do any core or upper body stuff because of the broken clavicle!
