New saddle for larger cyclist?
Discussion
I was going to reply with the 'how long have you been riding' question too. I found any sort of saddle deeply unpleasant when I started. In fact I think much of the first 40k route I did (where we stopped at a coffee shop half way) involved getting out of the saddle after the first 15km or so!
If you do end up changing saddles it's worth borrowing some demo saddles from a local bike shop and seeing what feels good.

I always post this when the saddle question comes up.
There's an article at this link which explains what factors come into it with saddles and should help you find some comfort.

Briefly:-
- Saddle width and the width of your sit bones are crucial as others have said, if the saddle is too narrow your sit bones will be over the edge and your weight will be on your soft bits. Too wide and your legs will rub
- Too squashy a seat is not comfortable, you need the weight to be borne by the sit bones not the sensitive parts of your anatomy in between, a comfy looking squashy saddle will spread the weight out too much
- A saddle needs to be flat enough for you, if it is too arched your sit bones may not allow your body to clear the hump
- consider a cut-out, some find this is needed
