Hi All,
The alpine challenge (https://www.alpenchallengelenzerheide.ch) sportive in Lenzerheide has been moved early June this year from the previous years when it was held in early August. To the uninitiated its a day in the saddle over 2 or 4 alpine passes totalling in km 116km for the short version and 200km for the long version. I have ridden the short version for the last two years and with family commitments have basically used my commute (60km - maybe one morning a week and then home one evening a week ) and spins at lunchtime to ride myself into some sort of shape over the summers prior to the race. However, with the impending arrival of number 2 in early May and the fact that the sportive itself is not long afterwards in June, Im wondering if I should even bother doing it given the small window to properly prepare and the fact that I may only get into the mountains maybe once prior. During the week I am currently restricted to riding on the Tacx (about 50km per week) with the weather being the way it is and then running and weight training.
Would do you suggest? give it a go and prepare to suffer and forget about getting near last years time or park it.
Thanks alot in advance.
