Hope Pre Peaks Ride ( not a race)

Don’t see CX on PH often but this event is open to MTB.
Anybody done this in previous years?
I know the area very well and the off road sections but not joined them all together to make a 80k Ride. Last years finish times varied from 3 hours 50 to 8 hours so it’s a challenge more than a race.
I’m just trying to get feed back as to how the day went last year.

I did it last year on my Production Privee hardtail, completed the long route in 5 hours 40 mins, quite a bit of climbing but good fun. Last 5 miles or so was bit boring but all in all a good day, wouldn’t fancy it on CX bike, hardtail was spot on.

Thanks for the info. Agree that I would not return via the canal by choice, but it’s the easiest part when you need it.
I know the tracks well and 5+ hours is what I would expect.
