Hi, I didn’t go but my son went. Fresh out of A levels, off he tootled on a 400 mile solo trip up North, new driving licence in his wallet, to camp in a field somewhere in a large plastic bag. He’d obtained a press pass to take pics for a media company.

Part of the press job was, it seems, to help sort out injured riders. Broken ankles, dislocated hips and a fair amount of blood.

Anyway, he’s had a great trip. Some pics.

Was one hell of a race. Young Reece Wilson put in one hell of a run, as did Racheal Atherton, considering she snapped a chain out of the start gate.

Was a great race in the end!

Watched Rachel's onboard cam, she'd have had the win if the didn't lost in the woods! She boosted the motorway jumps so well!

Looks like the new generation are now stepping up!
