New shoes time. Road 3 bolt type. Going to be used most of the year with overshoes as required. I get cold feet so don't need to be too ventilated. I actually covered over the sole holes in my current Shimanos. Looking around £80-£140ish, Little room for creep if needed. Not a fan of multiple Velcro straps and prefer BOAs over the ratchet type.
Current shortlist are
Shimano RC7 £135

Shimano RP400 £76

Sidi Alba 2 £150 (ahem)

Or
GIRO Trans BOA £144

Also, not sure if Black or White are a better idea. Most of the black shoes are virtually plain black with no details to lift them. So look a bit slab sided. Whereas White obviously you need to keep on top of cleaning constantly. And from what I read, age badly. Probably why I like the Giros and Sidis since it's a more balanced colourway.

They are a little bit more money (170ish) but I love my Giro Factor Techlace white/black.
They are super light and very stiff yet very comfy and easy to adjust. Easy to clean with a baby wipe and pretty streamlined so easy to get shoe covers on.
I ordered about 10 different pairs from different brands from wiggle as they had free returns. The Giro were the best overall but those Shimano RC were possibly comfier but they felt a bit heavier and bulkier.
Might just be me but I tried 2 pairs of Bont and thought they were horrific, would rather ride in clogs.

Buy them all in all possible sizes from Chain Reaction, try them on, see which you prefer then send the rest back.
Don’t forget the Sidis come in half sizes too!
Totally try them all onDon’t forget the Sidis come in half sizes too!
My experience over several decades:
Shimano come up small. Buy +1 EU size
Anything Italian comes up narrow*
Specialized just fit
Cheers
- = bloody annoying because anything Italian is usually lovely and cheap because it doesnt actually fit anybody over here but you persevere thinking they'll give for just long enough to realise that they wont but too long for them to show signs of wear so you cant send them back and so punt them on Ebay for a pittance where some mutants buy them all up cheap
I've toned down my reply a bit from what I was going to write.
What ever fits best and the most comfortable? I don't really see how a frum is going to help with fit and comfort for your feet.
I tried a pair of Sidis and sent them back and did the same with a pair of Fiziks and therefor I am still riding in my scruffy old Shimano shoes that I have had for over 10 years.
