Rattling Tiagra Shifter

My left hand tiagra shifter rattles on bumpy, uneven roads to the point that it’s now annoying me. I’ve made sure the plastic cover (under the rubber cover) is tight, I’ve even packed it with blue tack to no avail. The shifter is 16 months old, brakes work and the shifters work fine. It’s just the annoying rattle. Anyone any ideas please?

When you refer to plastic cover, do you mean no.2 here:

...? If not, check that bit for both the screw being tight and the plastic being broken.

Had the same on 105 took some finding but stopped the rattle

Jimbo, yeah No.2 full tightened and plastic not broken.
Leyorkie, so what did you do to stop the rattle?
