I've just been sent a video of a BMXer riding up steps on his front wheel. It looks fake to me as the bike does not appear to slow down, and the rider doesn't seem to launch himself upwards to any great extent. I showed it to my boys who have both done a little of this sort of riding and they both reckon its genuine. Thoughts anyone?

It's pretty much a smooth ramp with all the inbetweens.

Steps are irrelevant.

Can one nose manual uphill... yeah, with a bit of run up.

It's genuine. It looks so fake because it looks so effortless and smooth, but these dudes are at the top of their game. See also stuff like Bernard Kerr landing jumps on the front wheel straight into a nose manual like this: https://www.instagram.com/reel/CYzGYCYvO0b/?utm_so...

EmailAddress, looking at that slow motion view, I can see that it is looking plausible. I just can't see where sufficient upward impetus comes from to raise him eight feet or so.

I'm sure if that guy sat in a laundry basket and tried to pick it up by the handles he would make it fly.

That's a bit different to a nose manual as he's using the front brake, more of a prolonged endo.
Still takes a lot more balls than I possess.

OP - the video is genuine.

Bit like Moonwalking that one... but with extra steps.

To be honest, at Tik-gram quality, any of these could be digital shenanigans, faked, staged... but if I enjoyed the moment, and someone could technically do the 'thing' IRL then I think I'm okay with it.

See Captain Disillusion etc.

There are people with mad skillz tho'.

Yeah it’s genuine, what they do is run low PSI in the front tyre to be able to do this.
