Have been sent some info on work cycle scheme and feel it’s my duty to use it given I will save 47%.

Given the above mandate, what should I buy? I can probably top up if there was a compelling reason to.

Hardtail EMTB would be my suggestion -

Both Haibike AllTrack 5 and Raymon HardRay E 7 have some decent spec's for the price.

Should add I don’t want an E bike, and I think what I’ll be doing probably isn’t enough for a MTB in terms of off road severity

The Boardman ADV range actually looks pretty decent and good value, this is their £2k model

https://www.boardmanbikes.com/gb_en/products/2399-...

They also do a flat bar TRVL with 40mm suspension fork which looks interesting

cheaper but alu frame

Take a look at ORRO bikes - they do some lovely gravel bikes (I have a Terra C 1x12 GRX) and it flies. I ride pretty much all the trails I do on my fs mtb and it's been brilliant...

I’m 10k miles in to my 2021 Giant Revolt & love it.

Used in all weathers, well looked after but has required very little.

Certini usually have some discount stock if you're OK with 23/24 models.

A Specialized Diverge Comp is a lot of bike for £1750. Certini do C2W scheme and interest free credit.

No connection - just had 2 very good discounted bikes from them in last few years.

I was going to say Spesh Crux, but then I looked at the prices - they've gone mental laugh I'd probably still look at the alu one tbh at £2.3k.

C2W encourages people to save £1k on a '£2k' bike, to do what they could easily do on a £500 bike, or even a £50 clunker from Gumtree.

Thanks all.

I think something like that will be good, I think the Canyon gravel bikes look very smart but just wonder if they’re a bit ‘too close’ to a road bike really.

Have a look at where you can use your cycle to work voucher first and then work from there with what you can buy.

Canyon only sell direct I think and not sure if they take any of the cycle to work schemes so they might be off the cards straight away. Other suppliers might only have certain stock (tredz for example).

Ribble can be a good option for gravel bitke s

My Creo is essentially a Diverge with a motor, if rides and feels like my old Madone, but can take 40mm+ tires which makes a difference. Without a dropper post however off road decents still feel skitchy as your bum is still so high up compared to a MTB (That's my excuse anyways).

Bit of a thread bump, but I think he meant secondhand. I got my gravel bike for £350 and it's been a blast.
