I've got a planet x road bike, I use a bar end mirror on it, it's ok but it moves a lot even tightened, it's not that big.

I'm not going to get radar as I don't think I'd use it much, currently out once or twice a week up to 6 miles or so

I've seen advertised but not in the flesh a helmet mounted mirror, thinking this may be a good middle ground between bar end and radar
Anyone use one?

Have a search for Bike-eye. Frame mounted, and views between your legs (Oh, err!!)

Try a better bar end mirror. I use this £6.99 one on my flat bar bikes. Great adjustment. Good clear view. Rarely moves.

Cheap enough it's no loss if you drop the bike and break it.

Some mirror/bar combinations I have had to wrap a turn or two of inner tube round the prong before insterting into the bar to get a really secure fit.

Thanks, I've got drop bars so I'm not sure it would fit, good excuse to visit decathlon though

You can get small ones designed for drop bars, they work well.

I used them until I got a rear radar light.,..,

As suggested one that fits in the bar end worth trying.

My drop bar bike has bar end shifters. I use a mirror which clamps onto the brake hood. Great rear view. No longer in production though and probably wouldn't work with brifters anyway.
