Land Rover announced they were doing so two years ago but I'm not sure what came of it.
Seemed to me at the time to be a massive opportunity given the strength of the L-R brand in terms of off-road performance

Looks stunning I agree, but the mudguard clearance could be a problem. Plus it's singlespeed so I'd never get on with it

Unsuprisingly car companies are not as good at building bikes as the specialists. Also they sell fewer models so the retail price has to be higher to recoup the manufacturing costs, making them poorer value. However most porsche owners etc are paying for the badge so what the hell.

Didn't they end up going with LR-branded Orange bikes in the end?

The Land Rover and Porsche bikes are pretty good. VW has a tie-in with Trek, or at least it used to.

The rest are fairly pants. Spyker...yuck. It's just as ugly as the car. And just as ill-suited for the purpose it's built for. Just horrible.

You'd be ok as it's not actually a single speed as it has a geared hub (probably a Rohloff). You can see the cables on the far side of the rear wheel.

I thought Land Rover had gone with Moulton.

Also, shouldn't forget Ferrari's links with Colnago.
