Just did a 12-mile ride including a 250-foot climb (in a half-mile) using only the top gear. I feel fantastic! I finally "get" single-speed bikes, though I don't think I am ready for it just yet. Getting there, though. I coulnd't get out of the granny gear on any slopes when I started just 10 months ago.
