I have some time off soon and I'm planning to go away for a few days.

At the moment I have nothing booked but I do want to get in some mountain biking somewhere in the UK with easy to medium trails (girlfriend has only just started riding) of about 20/30 miles apiece.

It would also be cool if there are some decent driving roads about as well as I'd like to have a bit of fun getting there rather than just trudge along the motorway.

Recommendations please!

Uh Uh... NORTH wales...

Coed Y Brenin, Betws Y Coed, Coed Llandeggla, (sp on all them!) and the Evo triangle...

Snowdonia Area. Beautiful part of the world.

Funny- South Wales was top of our list as there is a good route on the MBR website- Gower Peninsula? But we need a trail for the second and third days so I'll check out your recommendations.

Cheers for the North Wales idea but as I'm coming from Essex south will be more convenient.

If you are thinking of South Wales, I urge you to try Brechfa Forest:

www.mbwales.com/other_trails/brechfa.html

I recon it's better than either Afan or Cwm Carn (which are both very good BTW). The Gorlech trail is excellent, especially the final couple of km

Really interested in Brechfa but I see that it only says 1 of the 3 trails is open- is that still the case? Otherwise it looks ideal as we could do one or two each day.
