I have got a Cannondale with fatty Headshok. The write ups on these are good but I am not sure. Is is worth swapping out for proper suspension folks? I weight 14 stone and feel that the headshok travels down too much in normal riding conditions. Would I have the same problem with suspenion folks?

Have you got the right pressure in the shock for your weight?

They work ok when set up well, however they are a bh to maintain - they really can only be serviced by Cannondale dealers (of which for my sins I used to work for - and was a trained Headshox technician).

The reason being is the complexity (read fiddlyness) of the 4 piece roller bearing system: its just an arse to get in and out without them disappearing under a fridge or whatever.

I'd recommmend swapping out the headshox, and putting the reducer cups in for some better forks of which you'll have lots of choice from biggrin

IIRC (and this was 10 years ago) they were obviously only available from Cannondale dealers, and cost about £40.

As for forks, I'd start a new thread - its a big subject biggrin

Neil - ID / Ison I think do reducers for Headshock frames now, think there less than £20.

Most bike shops should have an account with these guys so should be able to get them in.
