I currently have a GT ProLite seat on my bike (GT Chucker), and although I can see the sense in it, it's just too uncomfortable. I can't ride my bike again for days without being in pain!
I want to spend no more than £20, and want something that looks good and will not bruise my bones!

Any help appreciated.

£60 cheapest for that Fizik! A bit out my price range.

I'll look at that other one later - Pics dont work at work.

Try this link (out of stock):
http://www.on-one-shop.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catal...

but Merlin have them for a couple of quid more:
http://www.merlincycles.co.uk/?fn=product&prod...

Just ordered a Bel Air RL myself from CRC (in cow print to match my black/white bike biggrin). The whole range is listed here:
http://www.sdgusa.com/bike_rails.html

however, all the funky coloured ones are more than your budget.

Got an SDG Bel Air RL (titantium rails) on the Mojo and a Fizik Arione Ti on the road bike.

Both take getting used to but ultimately are comfy.

Many I know REALLY rate the Specialized Toupe.

That SDG Bel Air RL looks pretty good, but just want to know if it'll be suited to me really. It looks just as hard as my current seat, or perhaps even more so. Is it because it's better designed? My a**e really hurts (the bones) from my seat at the moment, so I need to make sure I get a good'un.

Used SDG Bel-airs for ages, got a Ti one on my current ride.

There really common OEM fitment, so you could have a sneaky try of one in a bike shop

Well, having just got back after 50km of trails in the saddle, I can confirm it's great! I wouldn't describe it as comfortable, as there's little padding, but my buns are feeling just fine and I'm not walking around like John Wayne either smile

Recommended (although my white/black cow print is more brown/black now biggrin)

Hmm, I'm thinking I'm more suited to something with more padding then perhaps. I ride almost every day, and getting on it just hurts constantly.

Old school Selle Italia Flite saddle; its the only saddle I EVER use.

Looks like it'll cut you in half, but its supremely comfortable once you get used to it...

Not many bike products have stood the test of time like the Flite, and still can't be found cheaply smile

Agree that, but saddles are a personal issue.

Just changed to Flite Geunuine Gel, about £70, on all my machines. Just lighter than normal Flite.

[Got a couple of Flite saddles going spare if anyone is interested?]

PDV6 has one of each, I believe he is running his Gel on his commuter bike, and he prefers that one.

I do agree that saddles are a personal thing, however I've not heard many not get on with a Flite.

I'm sure over the years I'll consider retiring to a Gel wink

However, the Gels don't look as cool do they wink - as much as I love my Carbonio Flite, I've an orginal Flite, and its the nicest looking, unspoilt by graphics and inserts...

So, I need to look for a gel seat perhaps if I want more comfort?

Yep - as Neil mentioned, I have a standard Flite on the Y bike and a GG on the rigid aluminium frame.

As I spend most time on the commuter bike and it has no suspension at all any more, the GG is just that extra bit more comfortable. I picked it up during a sale in one of the online shops (Wiggle, probably) for about £30 or so in black.

The standard Flite I have isn't ultimately as comfortable (but it's still damn good) but as it's on a full suspension bike that does fewer miles it's not an issue. I picked that one up 2nd hand from eBay in good condition, again for about £30. Looks a little worse for wear now due to being crashed into stuff regularly...

TBH, the Flite seat looks even less comfortable than the other seat mentioned. How are you judging the levels of 'comfort'? I'd also like something that doesn't crush my undercrackers too!

The thing is, what 'looks' comfy is generally NOT comfy in the long run.

Take the Brooks saddles for instance. Long distance roadies swear by them, and Brooks saddles are just a leather saddle and NO padding.

Its all about getting the saddle 'bedded' in as it were. A few rides is all it takes to get it nicer, the first always being a bit painful.

The benefit of gel is that its great for little use or commuting, however, peseverence with a high quality saddle will pay dividends in the long run.

I know that a Flite after a few rides is supremely comfortable, and it only takes a ride or so for my bum to get used to it smile

That said, if yer just off down to the pub or tow path on the saddle, you're best off with something with Gel in.

Yeah, I'm not using the bike that much to be honest. Does that not mean that I will get used to the saddle that is on my bike? (A GT ProLite) - Because the pain is definitely getting worse. Almost unbearable, and spent most of my morning ride today stood up.
