Has anyone had any problems recently with CRC?

I've ordered about £250 worth of things from them and I've not heard from them, nor do they reply to my emails and I can't even get through on their phone lines as they're always "busy".

Anyone else having the same problems and is this normal?!

I used to order from them when I lived in the UK, years back and never had issues back then.....

That's been fairly normal service since just before christmas it seems. Some people are lucky and haven't had a problem but a lot say the same as you if you read other forums. I don't use them anymore.

It's a total pain in the arse. I've ordered parts for my bike, plus my mate also got a new rear mech for his as it got mashed up in our last ride so he's totally immobile until the order comes through.

I'm sure I'll eventually get the parts but what lousy service.

It's the last time I think I'm ever going to use or recommend them.

Moose.

I've discovered the trick with CRC. If you place an order for just 1 or 2 items, you get it next day no problems. If you place a larger order (say 3+ items or for something large like a wheel) then it takes 2-5 days. Odd but seems to work for me smile

Yep. Had issues with delays recently. I've got 3 direct email addresses of people in their customer services. Email me via my profile and I'll send you them.

They're getting a bad reputation on other forums for slack dispatch, incomplete orders and not being able to contact their customer services.

They're a victim of their own success. They are trying very hard but are having difficulties recruiting suitable staff to help cope. Although, it has been going on for a whle now. I personally havene't had any issues and only one of my orders has been delayed this year (and there have been a lot of them!).

In all fairness it isn't a large numeber of orders being delayed and there is a lot of duplicate posting about the same orders. Yes it is frustrating when it happens to you.

I've run a mail-order business, and getting decent service from couriers into Northern Ireland was always hard work - I imagine the same applies in reverse for CRC.

Only ever placed one order with them myself - flawless performance.

This is the first time I've posted about this problem. I just wanted to see who else had problems....

But like I mentioned previously, I've ordered from them before without any issues....just a shame there seems to be problems now.... frown

I don't really have any issues with them, have ordered a few bits & am very selective, that I will only order stuff in stock. Otherwise thats when it seems to go wrong.

Although, I find they arn't the cheapest on most things any more, unless you're very lucky.

Cheaper than Wiggle! I'm a little out of touch with the UK suppliers these days....

Who else is there?

I haven't bought anything off them for a while now, because with 10 minutes searching I can always find things cheaper. The advantage is more often than not, CRC stock things.

For example, I need a couple of tyres before we go out to France, £41 on Wiggle, £49.98 on CRC...

Merlin are great for 'deals' but you have to check regulary.

I wasn't implying that you've made loads of posts about this particular incident just that alot of people on STW are repeatedly posting about the same order which makes the business problem seem worse than it is.

CRC are having staffing issues because they are looking for staff who know / have an interst in what CRC sell. It would appear from the various postings by CRC that people aren't 'good enough' to work there. Which is a long term good thing but causing problems short term. Afterall, wouldn't you prefer to dea with someone who knows their stuff?

I know it's frustrating when you're waiting for new kit to arrive.

You could always shop elsewhere - but that doesn't help once you've placed the order.

In the interests of fairness, CRC's stuation is self inflicted. But I do know that they are working very hard to sort it out.
