Went to Grizedale today, North Face trail, in the lakes:

So have some pics of me and my mate having fun over the 10 miles of mostly up and down. Lots of forest roads, but the really fun bits are the singletrack which is steep, tight, full of sharp rocks everywhere, bits of boarding, hectic descents and steep climbs. Tiring, but brilliant.

Just below Carron Crag (behind the photographer, not the one in the distance)

Under the Boardwalk

Above "The Chopper" (chortle)

The Zander Zone

Bloody snakebite punctures frown Stupid rock frown

Anyway it was a great day out, apart from the one puncture, and that I nearly sliced my finger off by getting it trapped between the disc and fork when pulling the wheel off to get in the car. That hurt like buggery.

Looks fantastic, weather doesn't look too bad either! I was at the Bristol Bikefest this weekend and someone did what you nearly did and took their finger tip off. Certainly more of a hassle than a puncture!

I had a go on the northface trails a couple of weeks ago. First go on my brand new Trek. Found the climbs very difficult, but the downhill bits were great fun......

I found some of the climbs quite tricky, not the length or ascent, but the number of rocks and obstacles smile Some of the boarded sections I thought had rocks at the start that were slightly too big, but otherwise it was all fine.

By the last mile or two though I was ready for a sit down with an ice cold drink smile

My under-saddle bag burst at some point on the last leg, I lost a Park multitool and a sludge filled brand new inner tube, and a spokey that I've had for yonks. If anyone finds them, let me know biggrin I've chucked the bag now, ordered a new one, the old one was knackered anyway.

I did the Wildboar 24 hour event around there the other month. Super fast rocky descents but the climbing was tough.

Went again this weekend gone.

Not perfect, slightly out of focus and the lens is far too narrow, and I edited it on my lappy and didn't take care over it smile

Great fun though, apart from the two falls (one of them at the end)
