Wheelies and SPDs don't mix very well.

There were witnesses - my children, wife and mother-in-law, but happily there are no pictures of me discovering what happens when you get your C-of-G behind the rear axle and can't unclip.

At least I didn't compound things by dropping the bike on my face when I hit the deck.

I did that a few months ago, thankfully in complete isolation. smile

Did a perfect arc and landed flat on my back.....feck me it hurt.

Just after this I spent a good while messing about with the pedals so they clip out dead easy now.

Tip...when performing SPD wheelies always cover the rear brake!

Just takes practice. I did it twice in one ride a couple of years ago. Severely winded, lying on my back like a stranded bug, lots of people laughing.

Havent ridden with spuds since and pick up new spud equipped bike tomorrow. So fully expect to be winded again soon on the odd occasion

hehe

Also wheelies and backpacks full of books don't mix. Mine was done years ago while leaving college, a group of about 12 people witnessed my demise.

Last clipless assisted fall was just after closing a gate at 0mph. Just went over sideways on to the shoulder I had broken a few months ago and into a huge bramble bush. Needed help out of there, it would have been easier if the person helping wasnt crying with laughter.

The roars of laughter got worse the more I swore.
