MTB'ing in Birmingham/Blackcountry

Hi guys, i just got myself a new (used) MTB today and now im wondering where i can goto get muddy!

i've been using my road bike for the last year building up fitness etc, but thats just a means to an end really.. fitness and transport.

i know that i can MTB around Dartmouth park in West Bromwich as there are lots of trails there..

but where else is there locally?

Get yourself up the Clent Hills. Loads of decent trails up there, albeit they have just ruined the best bridleway by smoothing it out.

Another vote for Cannock Chase and the "Follow the Dog" trail. If you have never ridden a purpose built, one way, proper MTB trail you are going to have so much fun.

And it's not even coming close to some of the Welsh trails which are not that far away...
