i have just bought a new bike (in pieces still in the box), stupidly thinking i would just need to assemble the front wheel and handlebars. But, to my delight, none of the gears are connected and the manual is no use, so at the moment i have a bike with two cables totally seperate.

i need some help on how to connect them to the handlebars and then to the actual gearing system.

diagrams would be useful to.

Im generally quite good doing things like this but im at a complete loss.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm guessing that you probably are not that familiar with bike mechanics, so I would suggest that you get someone knowlegeable to check it over. Particularly the brakes, headset adjustment, and also make sure that your mech stop screws are set right...
