...in bulk for a price i'm going to be willing to pay?

When I say in bulk, I mean a roll of each and a packet of 100 ends, as I suspect bike shops buy it in.

You're not going to get the inners on a reel, as you need the right ends pre-fitted to work in the shifters. Can buy them in boxes of 100 cables though.

98 spare gear cables is a bit excessive.

Mine are >10 years old and still fine.

Either you don't go anywhere near mud/dirt or are just lucky! I seem to need to change mine every 6 months to keep everything running smoothly (Shimano XTR ones too!)

As for where to get that amount from, I'd ask you LBS where they get them from
