The reason why i ask is im looking to sell my 07' Kona Kula Primo but have no idea how much its currently worth? It cost £1600 in Jan 07. Im thinking of whacking it on flebay starting at £500?

If you've used it as you should have, and it's battered and scraped, £500 will be about right.

It'll have to be a minter to START at £500

sounds fair to me, bikes loose loads of value, mine do, because they get used a lot, I rarely sell stuff.

I think the consensus seems to be 50% in the first year then 10% per year after that. As said above if it's mint then start a bit higher, if well used then 500 would be about right.

It's funny cos people think cars depreciate quickly...

Mountain bikes are a nightmare!

The old rule was always the 50% in its first year, and 10% every year therafter, but I think nowadays there are way too many variables... A Mountain bike used to be a mountain bike, but these days mountain bikes are so specific to the type of riding they are intended for, and nobody just buys a "normal mountain bike" these days...

Hence they depreciate more too! frown

Still, with the boot on the other foot, somebody should be getting one hell of a good bike for relatively little money from you (this is the way I tend to view it now, buy a bike, or the frame at least, 2nd hand)...
