That's a sick frame.

What fork are you planning on getting?

I've no idea yet, think the problem is the sheer number of options available!

Any suggestions appreciated, obviously around 6" of travel but i want to try and keep the bike reasonably light

I'd go for Fox 36 TALAS or Van's. They'd be sweet!

Na, neither of those.

From experience of all three, you want the post 2007 Floats.

The Talas are nice but the damping is not as nice as the Floats or Vans. The air spring in the newer floats is so close in performance to the Vans that it makes the Floats the one to go for. Vans are a bit heavier.

Go for the 36 Float R's, RC2's are crazy money and you'll likely not touch the compression damping after its left the shed.

Just testing the water here but I have a set op 2007 Rockshox Totem Airs that have hardly been used. I might be willing to sell but they are not cheap smile

Im currently deciding wether to put my 888's on my Marin or keep the Totem's as the bike has hardly been ridden.

Me wants, me wants, me wants! Got bored of my Gemini Frame... Prefer the 4 bar designs overall...

Regarding forks... I picked up some 2007 Marzocchi 66SL's brand new earlier this year... For £350! About half what they were last year...

Shop around for some "last season" bargains... Oh, and from what I hear anyway, the 2008 Marzocchi's are MUCH less reliable now that they are all made in the far east and not Italy any more (which is funny... I don't know a single "Far Eastern" Car that would be any less reliable than any Italian manufactured one)... Heard of several instances of the 08 66's becoming sloppy and rubbish after only a few rides... Can confirm my 07 66's are probably still not bedded in yet even!

I have been looking at some marzocchi forks but i think I'm going to go with some fox 36's of some description.

Can't wait to get it built up, just a shame it's going to take a whilefrown

Good man, by far imo the best fork out there at the moment, suppose the price kind of suggests that as well tho.

Totems are awesome forks, but They're £700+ right?

And Fox 36's awesome too, but again, V V expensive...

The Zocchi 66's are at least about half price if you shop about and find some 07 forks still around, of which there are a few...
