BR - You Bristol based then?Tis' an interesting forum eh?

I am on occasion Bristol based, not currently though. I can't face riding Ashton Court etc. over winter due to the Enjoyment to Tidy Up ratio being terrible….maybe controversially, I’d even prefer it was shut during the wettest times so that when it does dry, there is something to ride.
The situation on that forum is ridiculous, I'm not affiliated with either group and from the way they conduct themselves, and I would not want to be. I want to help the trails, but not from the flawed basis they have both set themselves.
At the moment they are painting the Fourth Bridge, some of the trails are fundamentally wrong and will never work without effort that would go ten times further in other areas. Sadly I see it becoming a cycle path, as that is the most mindless option, despite there being plenty of wide smooth tracks and quiet roads for those after a tame ride.
They need to drop the egos quickly, take a holistic approach and formulate an overall strategy. Groups can work independently on the trail but to the same overall plan. It seems though, that things have gone past the point where the available interpersonal skills can heal the divide.

I use MTBR quite a lot as they have manufacturer specific forums. Some of the other component related forums are also very helpful. http://forums.mtbr.com/
