Hmmm... He was alright back then, more of a personality then a pure racer, i think the game has moved on massively now though.

Whats the deal with the Syndicate? It implies that each rider has a financial stake in the team? Or is it just a marketing name and its really Santa Cruz's team?

Whether Palmer finishes 1st or last... he'll bring some more entertainment and publicity to the sport, which can only be a good thing!

just been looking through the santa cruz website and it looks like the syndicate is the works team

Thats right, the sydicate is the works team. It is a little different from most works teams in that they all ride santa cruz frames and the same key parts (shocks, forks etc etc) but are free on a few things such as pedals and race wear.
