I want to replace the standard saddle on my Specialised Stumpjumper FSR.
I get a numbness in places I would rather not be numb. Happens on long clims only. I was thinking maybe a 'BG' saddle from specialised? Anyone got any suggestions (re the saddle!)?
thanks

Fizik Gobi is lovely! However I liked my old FSR stumpy saddle too

Charge Spoon. Very comfortable, and only £20 for the chromo railed one. Or about £46 for the Ti railed.

I'd second that. Bought one for my DH bike as they're pretty narrow and light and it's surprisingly comfy, thinking of getting one for my Endruo. Good looking too.

I asked this on this on bike radar and got similar answers - visited LBS today and after a long chat and couple of try outs purchased a San Marco SKN pro.

I've always used a SDG Bel Air and found it very comfy. Just switched to a Fizik nisenne though.

Ti rails will cost you more and have a tendency to creak but they have a bit of give in them so can make for a nicer ride.

thanks guys. I am particularly interested in one that will not stop my blood flow to my manhood. I seem to suffer on long climbs towards the end of a ride. So I suspect I am possibly leaning further forward and shuffling forward on the saddle as i get tired and then stopping blood flow.

Mate of mine has one of these, says it is the best saddle he has used. If you go down your local Spech dealer they should have a "board" to measure your bum.

Ok quick report - just done 11 miles on mine and so far so good - mainly XC and some technical down hill stuff.

Had a fitting with a Specialized dealer today. Sat on the bum pad to measure my girth. Looks like I have a few choices but either a 143 or 155 width. Apparently the width is important or else you get the probs I have suffered.

yes You need to be sitting on the bones in your arse, hence the Specialized folks measuring the distance between them. If you end up taking all your weight on the soft tissue rather than supporting it on the bones, problems will ensue.

Bought the above on-line for 39 rather than 59.
Hoping that the blood will now flow !
