I've taken the R clips off, as instructed by Hope's website, but as for pull out the retaining pin, its not happening. I can get it to move about 4mm if I push very hard with a screwdriver on the end, but as soon as I let go, it just pulls back in, like there is some irresistible force on it! I can move the pads around the pin, so they are not binding it, and I've tried grabbing it with pliers from the other end whilst pushing, then pulling, but it won't come out and the pliers slip off. What am I doing wrong?

sorted - just had to leave some tf2 lube on the o ring for a bit and then give it a good old shove. Good timing too, I was down to the metal pad!

Yeah, they can be a bit fiddly, i found out my pads had nothing left on em while riding when the spring that sits with the pads got stuck in the disc! Had to go the rest of the way with no front brake, which doesnt seem that bad until your braking hard on your back brake on wet grass. Fun tho smile

yep, it was my rears, I guess once the pad goes, nothing there to hold the spring, so the disc wraps it over itself! It happened on the last section of follow the dog at cannock, so it was no issue really - new pads now fitted, ready to be bedded in and then off to Llantrwyd Wells!
