Best time of year to buy?
Discussion
Hi all,
Looking to buy a new road bike between now and February/March next year. Just wondering when the largest discounts are available?? I'm not too concerned about having the latest model or carbon wheels, just a decent bike at the lowest possible price. Is January the best option as the shops will be trying to clear old stock that didn't sell over Christmas?

depends on the bike you want really, popular things like the specialized allez where there are a good few dealers might be a better chance of a bargain but if you are after a big discount on say a wilier you will have a harder time. halfords had 10% off the boardman range the other day making the cheap one only £500 which is a bargain for what you get. as many road bikes differ in terms of geometry and fit, you might see a bargain but find it is uncomfortable to ride thus the saving is lost. you will be lucky to find anything after january in anything other than extra extra small or extra extra large (like any other sale really). best bet is to find a few bikes that are a good fit and feel comfy, then track the prices on the web. already places are selling out of 08 stuff though...
www.jamiesnikes.co.uk takes you to buyabike.co.uk and there are some good bargains there.
