I've read a couple of reviews in the press and the bikes seem very XC / Race orientated and well spec'd. I've not riden one though.

I think focus are like felt, not very well known (to me anyway) but always seem to be well specced and reviewed well. Also, they look like proper xc bikes which I like.

looking at a few of the 08 road bikes and they seem to be damn good value considering the groupset and wheelsets on offer, finishing kit isnt gucci brands but adequate for a year or two before upgradeitus sets in...

Always wanted a Cayo myself, never ridden one, but they always get great reviews and like you say, it's always pointed out that the components are worthy of a bike twice the price.

bought a Focus Culebro '08 in the wiggle sale about 3 weeks ago. Is a really good bike, very very light, good quality components etc.
Wiggle service (1st time i had used them) was fantastic - I had previously bought a Cube mountain bike from CRC and that took about a week to arrive, was different colour to that ordered, needed gears recalibrating (but still a good bike) - but Focus bike came in 2 days, properly packaged, protected in all the right places, everything working perfectly!!
Would definately recommend Focus bikes on the strength of my purchase (and Cube for that matter!!).
Only problem i have found is finding a front light that fits the oval handle bars!! Anyone solved this problem - only want a cheapie for commuting!!

Turnstile, alot of Cateye lights come with a plastic strap as opposed to a proper fixed bracket to mount with. While it doesn't hold aswell as others it would probably shape itself to the bars better. Either that or use duct tape.

would in no way fit my handlebars!! but will try and sort a way to fix it on!! if all else fails will go with the duck tape.

To the OP - get a Focus!! You won't be dissapointed!!

I drive a Focus. It looks good attached to a bike rack.
