Any of you keen cyclists belong to a club or a team ?

I started racing in Stourbridge Cycling Club in 1987 aged 14 years old
Raced for Great Britain as a Junior International from 16 to 18
Moved to Royal Sutton Cycling Club as a first year senior in 1991
Raced for Team Sabre/Venom during '93-'94

Had a break from the sport, then made a comeback in 2000 again with Stourbridge Cycling Club

Since 2005 I have been a member of the Shorter Rochford / Exclusive Ranges Racing Team.

I did a little bit of racing in the eighties with Deeside Thistle in and around Aberdeen. Got bored and started doing triathlons so joined the Stonehaven Fleet Feet Triathlete club for a couple of years. I sold my last road bike in 1989 as mountain biking took over my life and was one of the founders of our unofficial local MTB club. Est. 1989 and still going strong.

Mainly tris here (in fact I did one on Sunday morning - and yes it was snowing frown), but I'll be doing some races with a local club in 2009, plus a couple of sportives (L'etape if I can get my act together) and a few TTs after work over the summer.

I am a member of a local club and the CTC. Both have benefits and at the same time they allow you to contribute to the sport.

Did ride for a local club for a bit to get my fitness up, based on my current fitness I may need to rejoin in the New Year, they had a last man here rule so you soon learnt get up the hill first for a rest smile

I used to race for Rugby Velo's and occasionally rode with Rugby Racing Cycle Club.

I now ride with CPAC (Couch Potato Arcmchair Cyclists).

Some triathlons, well, two to be precise, but they were long ones...and a most of a summer's worth of 5 and 10 mile TTs with Yeovil CC.

Raced for Rennrad Club Norwich when 16 or so in '88 - '90, raced in the same team as Roger Hammond in ESCA schoolboy International, although I wasn't in his league. Glen Holmes was another contemporary, who I believe went semi pro in Belgium. University was in London and didn't have a cycling club with any competitive aspect, so gave up.

Only just got back into over the last 3 years, using my commute as training and doing the odd time trial. Broke the club record (Ford CC - nothing special) for a 50 this year, 10 and 25 being next years targets. Often see the Shorter racing kit out and about.

When I was a Junior International he was on the team also, along with Jeremy Hunt.
They have both gone a long way since - Roger more so.
Occasionally meet up with Roger for a ride and chat still as he had married a girl not too far from me.
