Hi folks,

Need some help naming an item.

Its the framework that a bike sits in,well, the rear wheel, sometimes has rollers in, enables you to ride bike without moving, ie in your front room. I suffered a spinal injury a few yrs ago, able to use a normal exercise bike, yet unable to ride a bike out in the real world due to when i stop im unable to put feet down, believe me ive tried.

Yet ive a nice Marin mountain bike in the garage from pre injury which id love to be able to get on.

Trouble is ive no idea what they are called, or indeed where to get them, or how much.

Dont want much do i , thanks in advance

Turbo trainer, or Home trainer.

Minoura, or Tacx.

Usually plenty of ebay / bike classifieds aswell.

Thats the baby, cheers pal.

Im guessing they are ok for a mountain bike, look more suited to racing bikes.

They're fine for a mountain bike as long as you have a slick tyre, I think you can get turbo trainer specific tyres for mountain bikes.

Minoura rim drive modela will work on the brake tracks of an MTB rim.

But, it sounds like your not gonna be using the bike anyway, so you can get a cheapo slick tyre for a tenner or so and use any other model.
