Help! Sticking back brake on road bike...
Discussion
As the title says, I have a Cube Peloton road bike with Shimano 105 brakes. The back brake has started sticking on one side, and can only be released manually by pulling the caliper away from the rim. The other side of the brake pivots normally
This is seriously slowing down my commute! I have tried applying oil but just can't free it! There was quite a lot of muck on the roads/bike.
Any ideas? This is annoying. Would any of the adjusters help?

Have you tried taking it apart, giving it a quick clean and putting it all back together with some lubricant in the correct places? That or just use the front brake unless you desperately need to use both
Ta! I've tried drizzling some oil into the pivot but it's having none of it. Might need to douse the entire assembly in WD40 tomorrow morning. I am a little circumspect about taking the bloody thing apart due to presence of springs, and suspect I might completely break it!
I am trying my best on front brake only but there's always the unexpected muppet in the way where both are needed! And even then there is a constant slight "drag" on the back end which makes it a little odd in corners. Hope it's not icy tomorrow morning

Is there an adjustment screw on the return spring? if so tighten that one and/or loosen the other (opposite side) - worked on my wife's bike.
I've had a bit of a go with it, but no real joy. I just think it's gummed up with road muck. If a WD40 bath fails tomorrow I'll have to strip it down. You checked the brake lever and also that the cable runs freely in the outer tube (black tubing that the cable runs though) - if it's got a kink, then it may be the cable holding it tight rather than it just sticking. Other option is a knakered spring which isn't doing it's job very well......??

Yep, the sticking definitely is at the caliper... I am genuinely stumped and have now admitted defeat
It will be going to the bike shop later in the week. Ta!
A rear 105 brake is £20 at Chain Reaction, £37 for the front as well, or Soras are a tenner a pop if it's just a commuting hack. I bet your LBS will charge you that just to look at it!

d to refit. Unless they come "Whole" and just need to be bolted on
Might pop in for a preliminary "chat" first.
Sorted... Operator error!
I took it into the bike shop and they had a look at it. They reckoned the initial problem was purely down to road grime clogging up the caliper.
I had refitted it slightly wrongly though, hence why it wouldn't work. Bit too much play in one place causing the whole malarkey to misfunction.
A big thumbs up to Garlands in Bristol though- Called them and they asked me to bring it straight in, sorted the brake whilst I went off to do some shopping, sorted another couple of minor niggles and then refused to take any money from me, saying "Well, you did buy it from us..."
