My new wheels are centre-lock, but my old wheels are 6-bolt.

Can I put a disc on the 6-bolt wheels that will work correctly in my XT disc brakes? I know there is an adaptor that allows 6-bolt discs to be fitted to centre-lock hubs, but that isn't what I want.

I just want the option of using my old wheels on my new bike, which aren't worth selling and are still pretty good.

Yes, either get some 6-bolt Shimano rotors of the right size (or reuse your old ones), or most manufacturers rotors are compatible with each other for the same diameter.

I use Hope 6 bolt (floating) rotors with my Saints, works fine.

You can buy 6 bolt rotors from Shimano also.

Good stuff. I'd probably get £10-£20 for each wheel and frankly for wheels that cost nearly £150 for the pair it just isn't worth selling them, particularly as one of them has bladed spokes and I think that looks quite funky smile

You might have to re-centre the calipers each time you swap wheels, but you'd quite possibly need to do that if you were swapping to another set of centre-locks.
