Recommend me a bike?

Hi chaps

Been considering buying a bike to commute to work at least 3 days a week.

I have 2 questions:

1. How long roughly it would take me to cycle 12 miles? (I'm 30 years old and quite fit as I train 3-4 times a week) The route to work is flat as a pancake.

2. Don't really want to spend much over £200, what should I expect to get that is half decent and would put up with general road and occasional off road use?

Both brands that have a reputation for quality at a good price.

Local bike shop is the best place for you to go though....they will sell you something appropriate.

and 13miles, depends how fast you go!! You will be able to maintain a steady 16-18mph I reckon?
