Ok gents following my load of old bull thread I have been thinking,I still have no idea about full suspension bikes. Many years ago when Ibought my hard tail I read up loads, got to much information and just confused myself. This is where you come in,you can be subjective,so here is the criteria.Full suspension, budget £2000-£3000,it will be ridden in the Pyrenees 99% of the time by a 17 stone fatty(hopefully reducing).I'm not a badge snob,Ijust need impartial advice from impartial people. Many thanks in advance

Up the Pyrenees, down the Pyrenees, or both?

Spesh Pitch Pro with Fox Vanilla R and Ti spring upgrade and get the Pikes Push'd with the right spring by TF Tuned. Spend the rest of the money on the Chalet girls ;-)

If you 'have' to spend more then a Comnencal Meta 5.5 is worth a looky. Also the Orange 5 'Alpine'. Finally, a Laphiere Zesty or Spicey.

ETA - All of these will also be ridable in the UK too.

Permanent move huh?

In that case, which is going to be easiest to get parts for if/when you stack it?
Commencal maybe?

Laphiere should also be in good supply too. I wouldn't go Halifax then, I'd go Andoran.

Didn't know the move was permanant.

2 week old Meta 5.5. Same happened on another friends Meta. Could be they were very unlucky. I dont know. I hope someone will post something to say the opposite. Fine bikes otherwise. Any one seen this before on Meta's?

That look like a nasty little crack.Lapierre do look like they will fit the bill also just had a google moment and there is a dealer about 40 minutes away in St Giron. If you're curious search 09140 in the search bar of Google earth. The village of Le Trein d'Ustou will come up and you should be able to see my camping site(looks like a square).I'm hoping to get some kind of week end/mini break going but thats in the future(near future i hope)

March issue of MBR has a group test of, guess what, all mountain rigs. Cannondale Moto Carbon 3, Commencal Meta 6.2, Lapierre Spicy 516, Merida One-Five-o 3800-D (?!??!!??!) and the Orange Alpine 160.

Won't spoil it for you but rating range from 5 to 9 (out of 10).
