Thanks to following a previous thread here about bicycle lights, and thanks to the many contributions of many of us in this forum, I now wish to share with you my findings and hopefully save all of us a lot of money.

My interested was peaked by your contributions, and as such, I thought it would be the time to upgrade the Cateye Triple Shot unit on the road bike (and work commuter).

But looking around (mostly wiggle.co.uk and ebay) the prices for these valuable devices made me feel like I should sell a kidney or two.

The Cateye is rated at around 200 lumens by some electronics experts, and costs well in excess of £200.

What if I told you can have over 800 lumens of light at 1/3 of that???

Interested?

Read on for full pictures and details...

Again, thanks to everyone here for opening my eyes! If this helps anyone save money and increase their visibility on the road then I'll be happy.

Already got one from "dealxtreme" , great light for the money . Bit big for a helmet but great on bars , I also have a joystick max on the helmet. Interested where you got the mount though.

It's a V4 mount apparently...

This is the link for the whole thing...
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/XTAR-SSC-P7-900L-Flashlight-...

It cost less than £65 including shipping.

Does dealxtreme ship to the UK?

Not sure. The P7 LED is 9 watts.

If you go on ebay and look for
P7 LED
you should find plenty of them, mostly from China.

EDIT: (some of those looked like a good base to build a lightsaber from, but if asked I never typed that)

If those new P7 LEDs are the same wattage as what's in my Hope Vision (the old 2-led one), I'd be tempted to buy two off the shelf and put them into the light I already have.

BTW DealExtreme are very cheap, but expect to wait 3-4 weeks for delivery.
