Anyone selling a klein at the moment, or any ideas on where I could get hold of a nice second hand one?

Looking for an attitude ideally.

would also consider a recent pace rc200.

cheers!

I have two Mantra's, neither are for sale though i'm afraid. Why specifically a Klein?

There are two chaps I know of on here who have Attitudes, have a look through the 'show your bike off' thread above. I 'think' Central has one.

Are you after a "Trek" Klein or a Klein Klein?

There is a huge difference in frame quality between the two since they were "taken over" in 1996 by the evil Trek corporation.

If you want a pre '96 it will cost you way more due to their rarity, particularly with the "mission control" stem/handlebar and the rigid oversized front forks.

My bro had a 1993 Attitude in sunburst, full XTR, sub 20lb weight, one of the nicest mountain bikes i've ever ridden.

Some more info for you here http://www.oldklein.com/index.htm

Hope this helps, good luck in finding one for sale smile

Depends what you're wanting to pay, but there's a Gator Attitude on ebay (item 130289572858) that finishes today. Looks in about as good condition as you'll get. I own the MBUK 20th anniversary Zaskar, but to be honest I'd rather have a real retro genuine Klein Attitude, but it's more of a sentimental thing I guess.

For that reason, I'm also looking for a green / white / magenta fade Attitude. They're awesome bikes smile

My 1990 pinnacle is in there somewhere.
May be tempted to part with it.

Because they go round hoovering up decent independent manufacturers like Klein, Bontrager Cycles and LeMond. In fact Greg LeMond was in a court case with Trek just last year.

I also believe Trek has now ceased production of Klein's altogether.

Kinesis is another evil bike corporation, purchasing the likes of Mountain Cycle and nearly ruining them in the process. Thankfully they are now independent again and in rude health. smile

DING to that.. ergo I HATE Trek for doing what they did. lowlife scumbags with no sense of quality. Klein was my all out favorite brand and was amongst the finest aluminium frames of that era. Then Trek bought them, dumbed down the paint slowly, cheapend the production costs etc, to turn it into some bland factory produced BS. They even ended up sticking Adroit badges on the attitude frames, just to shift the stock.

I will NEVER buy a trek in my life... ptooy..I spit on them.

i have heard that there have been numerous problems with Klein welding in the past, particularly around the welds where the chainstays meet the bottom bracket, dont know it this was a batch, a particular model or something else but if you do find one, best check that particular area well. all that said though, if it hasnt broken in x years, another one or two might not make much difference.... never liked them myself, always preferred konas or (later on) voodoos...

Hi There

I have two Pace Bikes. One of which i would be happy to pass onto a good home. PM me if you want to discuss further. I'm based in SW London. Frame has full XTR (series 1), Mavic Cross Max, Carbon Suspension forks etc. Frame is a 19inch i believe.

I also have a rather nice Kona Hei Hei (titanium) with XTR (series 2) group set, cross max wheel set. It also comes with some v rare rigid titanum triple clamp forks. The bike is super light and super special!

Happy to swap parts from one frame to another to suit what you want.

Let me know if your interested.

Cheers

Treacle

My Klein was very light and a lovely ride.

I was gutted when I snapped it frown
