Have done Maul Jr a disservice this last year as he has struggled getting to grips with pedalling his trike, I didn't consider getting him a proper bike, however on stopping in JE James, I tried him on a 12" with stabalisers and off he went! Actually, it looked a tad small for him and although the 14" wheel bike looked a tad big, he still pedalled it well enough and with a bit of adjustment he will be fine!

Question is, is there a sensible way of carrying said bikes around? I have thule aero roof bars and a vcarrier for my bike and would like something similar for his. I don't like boot/strap mounted carriers and would like something more solid and ideally dont want to fill teh whole boot with his bike. So what do PHers do to carry their kids bikes?

Whilst in the shop, he then tried a trike like his and promptly fell off it and got straight back on the 14" wheel bike....

Come on, someone must do this already without having to use a boot/strap mounted job???

It'd probably be fine to put it on a roof carrier and then secure it by triangulating rachet straps from the frame to roof rack and ties through the wheels.

I have had two bikes, plus the sproggs 14"er on the roof of the shogun. I bought a cheapo Halfords roof carrier, which straps f/r wheels, and triangulates to the frame. Held it fine on a 500 mile round trip. I think it cost £19.99.

Hmm thats what I was thinking - an extra strap holding stabilisers to roof bars too.

Boot idea is fine I guess, but takes up a lot of space when we go away for a week as I still have to carry buggy and travel cot for the youngest. Doesnt leave much space for anything else!

Time to experiment I think, thanks for the ideas chaps
