Cannondale Bad Boy?

Has anyone tried the bad boy? Having just had my P7 stolen (see other thread) i am now looking at a hybrid. Seeing as i do about 50/50 road & dirt it kind of makes sense. The bad boy looks simple & 'unfussy' in single speed form, but my worry is coming from gears will i be able to cope with it? How do people find the gearing on a single speed.
